Going....Going....Almost Gone!

One more full day left before we head our on big adventure. Reality is setting in that for the next two months our job everyday will be to simply pedal and enjoy the scenery. We have done a bit of training and conditioning for the trip, but it will still be challenging at points. Thinking about the trip as a whole makes the idea of biking across the country seems very daunting, but looking at it day to day makes it much more manageable. I’m sure it will be an unforgettable experience for us!

Today we practiced completely disassembling the bike and putting it back to together again to make sure we could do it again in San Fransisco. The tandem (that Josh's parents are graciously letting us borrow) is really neat because it can be broken down and fit into two suitcases -- which is how we are getting it to San Fransisco. Hopefully it makes it through security.

To carry our gear we have both a front and back rack with waterproof panniers for each along with a handlebar bag. Here is the list of the gear we are taking:

CAMPING GEAR:

I think we've got everything we need...I guess we'll find out soon enough.
